It appears that in contemporary processing
"migration" of VSP data is
handled rather awkwardly. In the majority of cases the results
are also
poor. In accordance with accepted practices in horizontal
profiling, it is
believed that formation of some kind of CDP stack is required
before migra-
tion of VSP data can be implemented
Our approach is fundamentally different. It is based on the
concept
of the "Specular Reflection Point" (SRP) stack. We have
shown in the past
in the case of conventional data, that the SRP stack compares
favorably
with migration before stack In the case of the VSP data, the SRP
concept
offers significant advantages.
